Jennifer Douglas is an up and coming novelist and promotional speaker who fell in love with writing at a young age. As a child, Douglas would spend hours writing short mystery stories and crime stories for her friends. After she wrote her short stories she would print them out and then Douglas would gather her friends and distribute her short stories so that they could read her novella’s.
After Douglas’s friends had read her novella’s she would have a book signing and autograph her short stories with a funny quip and her autograph. With a fascination for mysteries and crime stories, she soon began teaching her friends how to solve mysteries and crimes themselves.
Douglas and her friends formed their own mystery sleuthing club and in short order Douglas was giving presentation and promotional speeches to her friends on how to preserve a crime scene and gather clues without contaminating the scene. Her father, a local detective, often gave her ideas and tips for her mystery and crime stories as well as taught her how to preserve a crime scene.
Douglas’s mother encouraged her daughter to follow her dreams and reads every book enthusiastically and gives her daughter pointers on some of the characters. Their close relationship helped her to write a special book dedicated to her mother.
Douglas graduated high school and went on to take journalism in college. With a double major in public speaking and journalism, Douglas went on to publish 6 mystery novels and has been invited to share her story with other students who are interested in writing.
Douglas is a fantastic promotional speaker that loves to share her story and often shares her childhood story of how she got started in writing and public speaking. She is very encouraging to you women who are just starting out as writers.
As a public speaker she is in high demand and also presents many writing workshops as well as crime scene processing workshops.
